Philip Spector teaches our graduate course in Statistical Computing--the most well-attended course in the department. He also gives a one unit introductory course which teaches the basics of our system and computing for all incoming graduate students, and gives occassional short courses on topics of special interest in computing. He has written a book on S and S+ and is considered one of the outstanding people in the field of statistical computing. He instructs and advises the department on the use of computing in statistics and is responsible for getting us the best statistical software available.

Ryan Lovett is responsible for installing and maintaining our hardware and system software. We are continually upgrading and improving our hardware and software to stay on the cutting edge of computing capabilities.
