Ceremony Details
• Tickets. Graduating participants do not need a ticket for themselves. Each guest over 2 years of age will require a ticket. Graduating participants are issued 2 complimentary tickets and may purchase additional tickets for $7/ticket at the Statistics Department. They will be contacted when tickets go on sale. All tickets are given directly to the graduating participant before the day of the ceremony. Guests will not be able to buy tickets at the door.
• Arrival. Doors will open at about 1:30pm.
• Seating. Tickets are for general admission. There are no assigned seats, other than the seats at the front of the auditorium which are reserved for graduating participants. Early seating may be available for guests in wheelchairs, individuals with visual impairments, or other different abilities. Please see an usher if you require early seating. One member of your party may accompany you.
• Accessibility. If you are attending the Statistics Commencement Ceremony and require disability-related accommodations (for example, sign language interpreting, real-time captioning, wheelchair space, etc.), please have your graduating student contact Denise Yee (cco@stat.berkeley.edu or 510-643-6131) as soon as possible. Disability Access Services must be requested well in advance of the ceremony date.
• Facility info. Food, drinks and smoking are prohibited in Wheeler Auditorium.
• Photos. Guests are more than welcome to take photos during the ceremony or to record it on video. However, there will be professional photographers and videographers on-hand and we ask that you please stay clear of their shots near the stage.
• Reception. An informal reception in the Wheeler Hall Lobby will immediately follow the ceremony. If the weather permits, the reception may take place just outside of the Wheeler Lobby.
