Annette's research interests include survival analysis, regression trees, genomics, array Comparative Genomic Hybridization (CGH) analysis, linking clinical outcomes to biological covariates, and competing risks. Annette's dissertation, Novel Approaches to Prediction of Survival in Cancer Research: Focus in Genomics, involves a generalization of regression trees for censored data, a new algorithm for splitting a high-dimensional covariate space for the purposes of prediction with censored data, and a novel approach to estimating absolute risk in nested case-control studies. All three projects incorporate the estimating equation methodology of van der Laan and Robins (2003).
