Jenny Bryan's research interests

Dr. van der Laan

Jenny’s thesis work focuses on statistical approaches to the gene expression data arising from microarray experiments. In particular (see joint paper with her advisor, Mark van der Laan), she is interested in the problem of estimating subsets and/or clusters of genes and providing measures of performance for this estimated subset. This has led to interest in clustering algorithms more generally and in devising good tests for differential expression in various contexts.

Jenny has written software to implement the techniques outlined in the above paper and it is available for others to use. Please email her if you are interested.
